Timothy M. Schmidt

Timothy M. Schmidt was born on May 3, 1949 in Minot, North Dakota. He was commissioned through North Dakota State University ROTC in March 1972 as a 2nd Lieutenant in Air Defense Artillery; he entered active duty in April 1972 and retired from active duty in June 1994 as a lieutenant colonel. He earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Boston University in 1984 and is a graduate of the US Army Command & General Staff Officer Course at Ft Leavenworth in 1987. His military awards include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3), Army Commendation Medal (2) and the Army Achievement Medal. Assignments include: 2nd Bn, 44th ADA (Nike-Hercules), Republic of Korea (1972-73); 4th Training Bn (Chaparral AIT), Ft Bliss TX (1973-75); 1st Bn, 62nd ADA (Chaparral/Vulcan), 25th Infantry Division, Hawaii (1975-78); Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center, Presidio of Monterey, CA (1979-82); 2nd Support Command (Corps), VII Corps, Germany (1982-84); 1st Bn, 67th ADA (Gun/MANPADS), 1st Infantry Division, Ft Riley, KS (1984-86); US Army Combined Arms Combat Development Activity, Ft Leavenworth, KS (1987-91); HQ US Army Training & Doctrine Command, Ft Monroe, VA (1991-94). Following retirement from active duty, provided contractor support to US Army Space Command and the Missile Defense Agency, Redstone Arsenal, AL (1994-2012).
