Professional Bio

Patrick J. DeGeorge is a retired Sgt. 1st Class, having served more than 21 years in the Illinois Army National Guard. Over the course of his career, he has held multiple positions throughout his career including Air Defense team leader and section sergeant with the 202nd Air Defense Artillery, reconnaissance section leader with B-Troop 2nd Squadron 106th Cavalry, Assistant Operations NCO with 2nd Squadron 106th Cavalry, and Headquarters Company Advisor to Headquarters Company 4th Kandak 3rd Brigade 201st Corps (Afghan National Army), Public Affairs NCOIC with Headquarters, 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Media Relations NCOIC for Joint Task Force Guantanamo Public Affairs, and Public Affairs Operations NCO with the 139th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment.
DeGeorge’s awards include the Combat Action Badge, Basic Parachutist Badge, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4thAward), Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (6th Award), Army Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Component Service Medal with “M” device and Silver Hourglass, Humanitarian Service Medal, Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Valorous Unit Award.
In his civilian career, DeGeorge works as the Public Relations Specialist for Township High School District 211 in Palatine, Illinois. He also holds the office of Board of Education member with McHenry Elementary School District 15. His professional and fraternal memberships include Veterans of Foreign Wars, 1st Cavalry Division Association, Air Defense Artillery Association, Northern Illinois University Alumni Association, and Illinois Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association.
