Professional Bio

Captain Joseph O. Campbell IV was born in Tallahassee, FL on March 25, 1994. He graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado with a Bachelor’s of Science in Economics. He branched Air Defense Artillery and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on June 2nd, 2016.
CPT Campbell completed ADA BOLC in 2016 and began his career as a launcher platoon leader in D BTRY, 3-4 ADAR at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. With D BTRY, he deployed to Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, Jordan from January to September 2017. He joined HHB, 3-4 ADAR in 2018, serving as the FDC OIC for a deployment to Saudi Arabia from June 2019 to February 2020. This deployment involved the initiation US Patriot operations on Prince Sultan Air Base, KSA for the first time in over a decade. Upon redeployment, Captain Campbell attended ADA Captains Career Course, graduating the course as the LTG Green Honor Graduate. He deployed again, this time to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, from January to July 2021, serving as the plans officer and assistant S3 for HHB, 31st ADA BDE on the Top Notch mission. He assumed command of B BTRY, 4-3 ADA on 28 September 2021.
CPT Campbell’s military awards and decorations include: the Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1OLC), Meritorious Unit Citation, Air Force Organizational Excellence Award, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2), Air Force Training Ribbon, and the Basic Parachutist Badge.
