Professional Bio

CPT Bangcong graduated from Bethel University in Indiana where he played collegiate soccer. In 2017, after completing the Air Defense Artillery (ADA) Basic Officer Leaders Course, CPT Bangcong was assigned to 3D Battalion, 43D Air Defense Regiment at Fort Bliss, TX, where he learned the foundation of being an officer, serving as a Platoon Leader and later as a Battery Executive Officer. During this tenure, CPT Bangcong played a critical role in the modernization of Air Defense. He was the appointed Officer in Charge of a PAC-3 Missile Field Surveillance Program, he successfully fired a PAC-3 Interceptor and played a pivotal role in the initial operational test of the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Battle Command System, the Army’s answer to Joint All-Domain Command-and-Control.

In 2021, CPT Bangcong assumed the role of Air Defense Airspace Management Cell Officer responsible for AMD operations, and as the technical adviser for the 2D Armored Brigade Combat Team (ABCT) at the 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, TX. During his tenure with 2-1 ABCT, he actively participated in the 2021 III Armored Corps’ War Fighter Exercise and completed a rotation at the National Training Center.

From May 2022 to February 2023, CPT Bangcong was deployed with 108th ADA BDE to oversee all AMD operations throughout CENTCOM. During the deployment, CPT Bangcong served as a Battle Captain, Operations Officer, and Regional Security Cooperation Coordinator.

CPT Bangcong was honored to command Alpha Battery, 3-4 ADAR, from June 2023 to May 2024. As a testament to CPT Bangcong's exceptional leadership, he was selected as the Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 3-4 ADAR Battery commander on May 22, 2024. In his short tenure with HHB, he already has met the Fiscal Year 2024 and 2025 Retention goals. Additionally, he trained and certified the Battalion’s Fire Direction Center crews in order to assume the Contingency Response Force mission.
